What are school holidays? What do they mean to different people around the world?

This three-day imaginative arts-based holiday programme invites children to reimagine holidays as moments of rest, renewal, and connection—both personal and cultural. Through sound, storytelling, movement, and visual arts, children will explore what holidays mean to them, and how different cultures around the world celebrate rest.

In this two-afternoon arts-based holiday camp, children will:

  • Reflect on their personal experiences of rest and play
  • Discover how different cultures celebrate downtime
  • Express themselves through sound, movement, art, and storytelling
  • Design a “holiday” experience for someone else with empathy and imagination.

Guided by our Thinking Through the Arts approach, the camp nurtures:

  • Creative Thinking – expressing ideas freely
  • Critical Thinking – asking thoughtful questions
  • Aesthetic Thinking – engaging the senses and emotions
  • Design Thinking – solving problems with care for others

Each session includes circle-time sharing, sonic explorations, visual arts, storytelling, and peer reflections.

"My daughter absolutely loved the Little SA holiday camp! She had the chance to explore music in different ways and discover how sound and the arts can be used for storytelling. She came home excited to share her artwork and reflections with me, explaining the creative process behind them. The various musical sessions and sound explorations were a particular highlight for her, making the whole experience enjoyable and inspiring."

"In our society rife with rote learning and structured classes, Little SA is like a breath of fresh air in Singapore and there is absolutely nothing like it here. This imaginative arts-based holiday programme allows children to be themselves and express themselves creatively through sound, art, movement and storytelling. There is no right or wrong answer here — my daughter loved being able to showcase her ideas freely through drawing and song and peer-to-peer conversations. She came home joyful, calm and excited to share about her experience with Little SA."

About Little SA

Little SA is an arts-based initiative dedicated to nurturing future-ready, socially conscious children. Through music, movement, storytelling, and visual expression, we develop four essential thinking skills: Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Aesthetic Thinking, and Design Thinking. Our programmes combine artistic exploration with inquiry-based learning, inspiring children to imagine bravely, think deeply, and connect meaningfully with the world around them.
